Does it work on phones?
Yes. We support every modern browser, including Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android, and a phone keyboard is exactly the situation speaking is three times faster than.
Which languages does it understand?
We currently support 57 languages, including English. If you think your language was not interpreted correctly in the demo, feel free to reach out and we will look into it.
Will it slow my site down?
No. Rest assured, it will not slow your website down or have any negative effect on your performance. The script is about fifteen kilobytes and loads with defer, so it never blocks your page from rendering, and nothing else happens at all - no network request, no microphone, no permission prompt - until somebody presses the button.
Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No, we do not require any payment details for you to try out the free plan. We do require you to register for an account and add your domain name.
Will it collide with my CSS?
No, it cannot. Everything lives in a shadow root that starts from all: initial, so your stylesheet does not reach in and ours does not leak out. Your page gets exactly one element it did not write.
Does it work in a native app?
Not yet. It is a script, so it works anywhere a browser draws your page - a website, a web app, a webview inside an app - and a native iOS or Android screen is the one place it does not. We are looking into supporting this in the near term, but there are no definitive plans at this moment.
What happens to the recordings?
They are turned into text and dropped. We keep the count so we can bill you, never the audio and never the words, and nothing that passes through is used to train anything.
Where is the audio processed?
Our own service runs in the EU; the transcription itself is done by OpenAI in the United States under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and is not retained there.
What if a visitor’s browser cannot record?
Then nothing is added to the page at all. They see your form working normally rather than a button that refuses - which is also what happens on a page served over plain HTTP, because browsers do not hand out a microphone outside a secure context.
What if I run out of fills?
The button quietly removes itself until your allowance resets, and your forms carry on exactly as they did before you added us - people type into them as normal, nothing is broken and nothing is lost.
Is there a keyboard shortcut?
Ctrl+Shift+Space starts and stops it from anywhere on the page. Escape throws a recording away without sending it. If your page already uses that combination for something of its own, data-shortcut="off" hands it back.
What is the AddSpeech link on the free plan?
A small line under the button, on Hobby only. It appears the moment somebody first presses the button, never before, and no paid plan has it at all.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from the billing page, and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. If you are unsure which plan is yours, start on Hobby and move up to Freelancer when you run short - using it tells you more than a comparison table can.
